THE CREEPY JULIE PROJECT
In April of 2021, while still in lockdown, I saw a call for a 90 second vocal piece on the Instagram page for Creepy Landloard. I did not know the person whose account it was but we had mutual friends so I decided to respond. I remembered how I had once done a similar call in a zine asking for mail art and no one responded. So I was motivated to make sure this was not going to happen to this guy.
We started collaborating on sound pieces virtually. We agreed to wait until we finished all recordings before we met in person. The 12 cuts below are the result of our efforts. Andrew made sound pieces to which I added stories. We decided to not tweak stuff in the sense that that were no 'do overs', so the sound quality varies as do performances. We really wanted to stay focused on the process which was therapeutic for both us us during this time of social distancing/lockdown.
